Delicious fish and chips, great service and the theme of being on a ship is pretty awesome.

I ordered delivery from this place as I was craving fish & chips. What I ordered: - 3-piece fish filet 'n chips - Scallops - Clam strips - Potstickers All of the seafood was cooked perfectly. They had a crispy and light batter and juicy inside. The potstickers were good, but nothing special, I wouldn't order them again. I was pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes of everything--great value for the money. Would eat here again when craving fried seafood!

Menu prices is currently not updated on Yelp. Generous portions. Ordered #6 and #11, didnt like the clam strips too much but that's personal preference, all items are decent. The fish fillet is great, everything is fried to order. The lady on station was friendly and willing to add on item without any hassle. Standard to-go joint with some tables to sit down and not much else in terms of decor. Will definitely return for the food, not that many fish&chips places left.

I've been coming here off and on throughout the years. This is the last remaining one in the Bay Area, as the others on Meridian and Almaden have long been gone. This location is in East SJ in a shopping center with Food Maxx, close to Pizza Hut. The decor is the same as when it was first opened up, like the inside of a ship. The store is weathered or has weathered the competition of other fish and chip restaurants. Yet, it's still around! This IS a hole in the wall place (still). Service is nice and friendly! Still big pieces of flaky fish inside a crispy batter. The oil seems to be changed regularly. The chips are nice and hot. They have a nice crisp exterior, but the inside is soft and fluffy. The clam strips are nice and briny. It was just as good as I remembered it.

We ordered Calamari Strips 'n Chips,- 3 Fish Fillets 'n Chips, Scallops, Calamari Strips just to try it out. Holiday Lunch take out and I am glad we all enjoyed it Cozy, Small Festive Fish N chips and Seafood. My favorite was the Scallops which I wished would have been in bigger size. Fish and Calamari was crispy and perfect. I would stop by again and order other items on the menu

IMHO WOWZA!!! I was craving fish & chips, and luckily for me, this particular H Salt Fish & Chips establishment is close to home! It is located in an unassuming strip mall in east San Jose and has been here for years! I opted for their 2-piece Fish Filet & Chips lunch special for $10.48. I took it to-go and it came wrapped securely in a thick paper bag. This package was super hot to hold, and I knew it was fresh out of the fryer! It came with 3 small plastic containers of tartar sauce and one small container of malt vinegar. Dang, this was the best fish and chips I've had in a very long time!!! They were super crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The fish is sooo big that it was more than enough to share with my husband. There are many other fish items to choose from as well; shrimp, clam strips, calamari strips, oysters, scallops, catfish, plus sides of clam chowder, zucchini, mushrooms, artichokes, onion rings, hushpuppies, jalapeno peppers w/cheese, egg rolls, potstickers and cole slaw. Customer service was very friendly and genuine! Tip generously please! Yes, yes, yes, I will definitely be back!
